The purpose of this policy is to give you information on how FearID collects and processes your personal data, including any data you provide through the FearID website.
It is important that you read this privacy together with any other policy so that you are fully aware of how and why we use our customers data.

Who are FearID?

Legal grounds for handling your personal data

The UK’s data protection laws allow us to use your personal data provided we have a lawful basis to do so. This includes sharing it in certain circumstances, as described below.
We consider we have the following reasons (legal bases) to use your personal data:
Performance of contract with you:
• we need to use your personal data to be able to carry out or benefit from the terms of a legal contract which we have entered into with you.
Legitimate interests:
• these are our business and commercial reasons for using your data, which we have balanced against your interests. We have certain legitimate interests in using your data which are not outweighed by your interests, fundamental rights or freedoms. These legitimate interests are to help development and improvement of our products or service, membership expansion, improving our understanding of our members, prevent and detect financial crime and to assist our compliance with the legal and regulatory requirements placed upon us.
Your consent:
• we may also use your data when you consent to it. You can withdraw this consent at any time, in which case we will cease to use it, unless we have a right and a need to continue processing it for one of the other reasons set out above.

Does FearID meet security standards?

FearID respect your privacy and understand the importance of keeping your information secure. To do this, FearID strive to meet the highest possible standards to earn your trust. Your ‘emergency profile’ which is accessible to the first responder, and to those entering the correct combination of unique User ID and PIN number, is designed to be shared in case of emergency.

NETWORK PROTECTION

FearID servers and supporting systems are protected from network intrusion and ‘hackers’ by using firewalls and other leading security measures.

FearID EMPLOYEE ACCESS

Certain FearID employees and system administrators may need to access the FearID system/website to provide operational / administrative support. Access rights are strictly controlled, and access is only granted to those who require it to support the FearID system and its users. All FearID employees are required to agree to confidentiality agreements. Access to the system is only granted after validation of the user’s identification.

USER PASSWORDS

FearID subscribers must enter their email and password to be granted access to the FearID system. These credentials are created by users upon registration. To reset a password, the user can do so in their online profile or an email will be sent to the user’s email on file. FearID administrators and employees will not have access to user passwords. Passwords can only be reset by following a link sent by email upon user request.

PERSONAL IDENTIFIABLE INFORMATION/ PUBLIC PROFILE

This privacy policy covers how FearID treats your personal information that FearID collects and receives on the FearID website, including information related to your past use of the Website.
Your Personal Information is information about you that may or may not be personally identifiable like your password, email address, or emergency profile data that is not otherwise publicly available. Your Personal Information also includes all of the information that you input onto the FearID Website under Your personal account, and which is also accessible via QR code reader. This policy does not apply to the practices of companies that FearID does not own or control or to people that FearID does not employ or manage. All Personal Information that is entered into the Website by you is private to you except to the extent that you opt to share such Personal Information on your ‘emergency profile’ with those who may access the Website and App. Other than for the reasons explicitly described below, it is the policy of FearID not to disclose Personal Information to any third party at any time.

FearID DATA COLLECTION

FearID may automatically receive and record Personal Information on our server logs from your browser, including your IP address, FearID cookie information, and the pages you request.

HOW FearID USES DATA

FearID may use Personal Information for the following general purposes: to customize the content you see, fulfil your requests for products and services, improve our services, provide paid content, contact you, conduct research. FearID does not rent, sell, or share your Personal Information with third parties.

What personal data is collected and how we collect it

We may collect data about you from the following sources:

Data provided by you:
• When you subscribe to FearID and make an online account, the data you provide may include, but not be limited to:
• Your name, postal and email addresses, contact telephone numbers, date of birth, bank account details, IP address, blood type, height, weight and profile image.
• Contact details (Name, Contact number and relationship to you) for any person you identify that the first responder should contact in the event of an emergency.
• Your medical information (including diseases or conditions, any medication, emergency/rescue medication and any previous medical history ie. heart attacks and stroke)
• Documents you store on your personal online account which may include but not be limited to details of medical conditions, medical history, implant details, treatment preferences and requests.
• How best to communicate with you (including but not limited to, hearing and visual impairments)
• In writing: for example letters, emails, texts and other electronic communications.
• Online: for example when you use our website.
• In financial reviews, for renewals and in any surveys etc.

Data we collect when you use our services:
• Transaction data: for example what sort of products you are selecting, the option you choose to pay your subscription.
• Payment data: for example, the origin, frequency, and method of your payments
• Usage and profile data: for example, the profile you create to use our website and how you use it. We gather this data from the devices you use, using cookies and other software
• Changes and updates to previously supplied data

Why personal data is collected by us

We collect personal data from you for many reasons including:
Your online activity- exercising our contractual rights and obligations, pre- and post-contractual checks, customer service, account management, product development, marketing and research
Legal- Contract performance, legal duty, consent, legitimate interests.
Legitimate interests- Business efficacy, product development, business compliance, efficacy and management.

From time to time we may contact you to ask for your consent to use your personal data for other purposes. Your personal data may also be used for other purposes where required or permitted by law.

From time to time we may also contact you about our other goods or services that may be of interest to you.

When personal data is shared

The first responder, accessing your emergency profile, may discuss your Personal Information with your nominated emergency contact in response to an emergency. The First Responder may also share that information with other persons in order to assist you in an emergency situation.

Consequences

If you fail to keep your online profile up to date, and fail to make any changes to your profile, including additional information which is relevant to your medical condition, then this may compromise the first responders ability to provide an effective and efficient first aid to you.

What choices and rights you have

Your personal data is protected by legal rights, which include your right to:
• object to our controlling and processing your personal data;
• request that your personal data is erased or corrected or that its processing be restricted;
• request access to your personal data via the website, on your online account.
There may be reasons why we need to keep or use your data, but please tell us if you think we should not be processing your data.

If you are unhappy about how your personal data has been used by us, please contact us and we will deal with any Complaint. You also have a right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office which regulates the processing of personal data.

How long personal data is kept

FearID retains the personal Information in accordance with the Retention and Destruction Policy.
FearID will keep your personal data (as indicated above) for as long as the membership fee is paid, and for a period of 6 months after the membership has lapsed. At this point the record will be completely deleted. Your unique User ID and PIN number will be unlinked to your profile.
Information used for marketing purposes will be kept by FearID until you unsubscribe.

Data storage location

All Personal Data is controlled by FearID and this information is located on servers within the UK.

Data security

We have put in place appropriate security measures to prevent your personal data from being accidentally lost, used or accessed in an unauthorised way, altered or disclosed.

Direct marketing

We can only use your personal information to send you marketing information if we have your consent or a legitimate interest. A legitimate interest will usually be a commercial reason which cannot be used unfairly against you.
